When asked about the future, many do not have a definite answer. Some say that everyone ends up in the same place, others say there is no life after death, and still other claim that there may be a way to enter eternal rest, but there is no way to know for certain. Being aware that life itself is temporary, and there is a final destination that we are heading towards at the end of this life is an encouragement for some, and a fearful expectation for others.
However, salvation is nothing to be fearful of, but something to hope for in this life itself. The assurance that even though there are things that we may have done in the past that we regret, whether that is against others or towards ourselves, these are forgiven when a person finds salvation in the Saviour; the Maha Satguru. Through Him, we are saved from our past sins and have hope for a future with Him in heaven.
This is certainly a hard concept to grasp for many. Yet the Maha Satguru, when speaking of salvation, was able this to explain to His followers by using the example of sheep and a shepherd. He said, “I am the gate for the sheep. All who come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.”
By saying this, the Maha Satguru was showing that, in order to have salvation, there is only one way, or one gate, to enter into the heavenly place that He has prepared for those who follow and believe Him. Any other person that claims that they can give salvation to those who follow them are the ‘thieves and robbers’ whom the Maha Satguru referred to. Only by personally placing faith and confidence in the Maha Satguru will salvation be granted.
As the followers of the Maha Satguru find rest for their souls by putting their trust in the Maha Satguru, so the Maha Satguru Himself will grant His followers the full assurance of salvation that comes from knowing Him. This salvation is something that can be experienced both in this life, and in the life to come. For those who follow the Maha Satguru, they will spend eternal life with Him, even after this life has passed. Even if others fail you, in this life, the Maha Satguru will never let you down.
Who are you placing your confidence, your trust, your hope in? The Maha Satguru still calls out to those who seek salvation; and those who enter into the gate of life will enjoy the pasture of peace and rest that only He can provide.
